Hi,
Is it possible to post remotely to Maian Weblog, eg. from a proram such as BlogDesk or Open LiveWriter?
If so, which engine should be selected (eg. Blogger, WordPress etc.) and do we have to activate some kind of API/feature within the script?
Thanks in advance.

Happy New Year to you too.
Yes, that is the first step that came to mind.
I’ll have to go through that again with a fine tooth comb, as it looks quite complicated to me.
Thanks anyway.
You can let me know if you have problems. Happy New Year. ![]()
I DO have problems, really, the main one being that most of the API section is gobbledegook to me. ![]()
What I do want to achieve really is to post from something like BlogDesk or Open Livewriter, but they ask for the engine you use (eg. WordPress, WordPress 2.2, Serendipity, Blogger……) and I have no idea how to answer that.
Neither do I have a clue how to enter the information from the doc in any of the aforementioned programs.

Things like WP do support XML Remote Protocol, so sites that ping to them only need to know the software used and they know the url to ping to. For example, for WP it`s the ‘xmlrpc.php’ file that accepts the incoming ping. The site that pings does all the background code etc. Maian Weblog is similar, but it won`t be supported by third party sites so you need to set up the source ping manually by editing the code. Of course if you are using a third party system you won`t have access to it.
If you don`t understand the API code, not much I can do, sorry.
OK, that’s clear enough.
Thanks.
I’ll have to get into all that stuff a bit deeper.

Have a play around with it, you might find it easier than you thought. ![]()
