Hi,
I have set up my email settings exactly as they are set up in my email client, yet no emails are being sent out, not even the test emails.
That means my cards don't get delivered.
I have set account, server, port (465) password and security SSL, all as they appear in my email client, but no reaction at all from the emails.

I'm afraid I'll have to cross-post as I have exactly the same problem with another script.
The logfile gives me this:

SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting

Adjustment: I just read in the help file about not using your Gmail password, but I have not found any Google app so far which lets me use its password for logging into my Gmail server on Maian Weblog.
I will definitely nee help on that.
Thanks.

Yes, you can`t use the Gmail password. It must be a Google App password. If you don`t understand this, you`ll need to contact Google or try a search on Google.

Oh dear.

Or has it something to do with that Google OAuth?

In your Google account go to:
https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords

If you still can`t send emails, something is wrong with your connection details. If you are specifying SSL, make sure the SSL is correctly set up for the mail server, not just the domain. In most cases Google recommend TLS.
