Coupon code not clearing per message instructions

It does not appear that I can remove a gift coupon after it has been applied as stated in:

"Gift coupon successfully applied. To remove, clear box and click "Apply" again."

I clear the box and click the Apply button but the coupon discount remains in the Order Summary Basket.

This happens whether the coupon code is alphanumeric, or just alpha, and whether the discount is a percentage or a set value.

If I click on the View link next to Items in Basket, before proceeding to Secure Payment, the coupon is removed, and then clicking on the Proceed to Checkout button again, the coupon does stay removed, as well as, the Name and Email Address also being removed ( although that might be by design ).
