This coming Friday I`ll be going to Tokyo for a week. I`ve always wanted to go to Japan, so I can hardly wait. I will have my laptop with me, but please don`t expect any support from May 2 - May 12.

In other news, if you have been checking the development pages, you will have seen that the new version of Maian Greetings is coming along nicely. I`ve mainly been doing a little bit on the new system at the weekend and at the moment I`m still mapping out the new admin area. v3.0 is a long way off at the moment, but at least its a little closer than it was.

A new marketing project will also go live very shortly. Initially this will be a Nickel Sale, with the final project selling for around $30 later on. If you are subscribed to any of my newsletters, more information to follow.

Finally, if any of you have contacted me for support via the contact form, you might want to re-read the message that is on that page. Support requests are very rarely dealt with via e-mail, so please post on the forum if you have problems. Thanks.

Maian Support has proved to be a popular free ticket desk system since its release a few years ago. Now Maian Support is evolving. The free system on Maian Script World is now effectively coming to the end of its life cycle and evolving into the all new TicketDesk Pro.

TicketDesk Pro contains all the current functions of Maian Support, along with a few new enhancements including standard responses. In the coming months other new features and functions are going to be added to make it a premium piece of software. Now here`s the exciting part:

At the moment you can get TicketDesk Pro for under $20. The retail price in a few weeks time will be $97, so this is a great time to get your hands on this great piece of software at a rock bottom price. Some of you may be wondering why you should get this if you are already running the free Maian Support. Here are a couple of great incentives:

Free Lifetime Support - Maian Support will be discontinued and no longer supported.

Make Money - Its affiliate based. Get the software now and you can make money later. Once you`ve installed it on your site, any customers coming to raise a ticket will see a link to Ticket Desk Pro at the bottom of every page. If they click the link, you earn a commission. Just for using the software, you get to earn money.

This new system is a joint partnership with my friend Frank Haywood. Frank is a long time user of Maian Support. Check out what he says on his blog:

Some of you may have noticed you now have to submit your e-mail address if you want to download any scripts. There are 2 reasons for this. Firstly, I get so many people asking me if I`ll keep them informed of script updates that I thought it would make sense to add a newsletter option. This ensures you will get notified of future script updates, bug fixes and security updates. For reliability I have gone with the Aweber system.

The second reason is that I`m involved in several marketing scripts that some of you may find useful as marketing tools. These will not appear on Maian Script World (at least not for the time being) and the only way you`ll find out about them is to subscribe to the newsletter. Call it added incentive.

Finally, a huge thanks to Sergiu Funieru, for taking time out to write this very thoughful review of my website:

Amid all speculation that there may not be any updates for a while, I can now confirm that the latest version of Maian Greetings is underway. This version will see one or two new features, page title & keyword updates, better SEO urls and a XHMTL/CSS interface. The admin area will also be re-structured to be more streamlined. Hopefully.

This will also be the final re-write for Maian Greetings. Unless anyone else wants to continue developing the system of course. No release date is set for this script as its going to take some time to write. At a push it could stretch into 2009, but lets hope not. The development page will detail whats new as it happens and the new version should be upgradeable from v2.1.

Sorry for the delay with this release, but things are, and continue to be, very busy for me. Free systems take no priority, so there could be big delays with the time I spend on Maian Greetings.

Thanks for your patience!!

A security flaw in Maian Cart was recently bought to my attention. This allowed a malicious hacker to execute harmful code via the search function. If you are running v1.1 you should simply replace the main index.php file as soon as possible. Apologies for the slight coding oversight.

I know a lot of you keep asking about script updates and new versions. At the moment there is still no news on any of the systems. Please be very patient. Thanks.

The latest version of Maian Music has now been released. This fixes the problem of mp3 previews in Internet Explorer and sees the Premium Beat flash player integrated instead of the original coffee cup jukebox. Premium Beat flash player also allows easy previews of each track, rather than loading all tracks into a playlist. Check the demo for a preview.

Sorry for the delay with this fix and I hope you enjoy the new feature. If you are running v1.0 and want to upgrade, see the upgrade info in the docs. Thanks.

My work load is high at the moment, which means working on the free systems just isn`t happening. Maian Greetings v3.0 and Maian Cart v2.0 are simultaneously in production, but at this moment in time, both projects are stalled because I don`t have time to work on them. I`m also reading up on some Ajax as well, which is also slowing things down.

Larry Lawrence is offering some commmercial templates for some of my scripts at popscript.com. Larry did ask my permission before launching them. Note that buying the templates from Larry does NOT give you the right to remove the copyright in the script. My thanks to Larry for offering some design alternatives.

Finally, sorry if you find things a little slow on the forum. I`ll reply as and when I can.
