Re: captcha does show the image.....not the letters

Hi Erwin,

Does the captcha/words/words.txt file exist? Have you made any changes to the captcha settings?

If the word file is in place, try re-uploading it. Failing that open the 'captcha/secureimage.php' file and set the following variable to false:

var $use_wordlist  = true;

Re: captcha does show the image.....not the letters

I've just installed this script and have the same problem. I've done what was suggested here but no luck.

Any ideas?

Gary

As I said I'd checked what had been said before, and I've just checked again, and they are both there! I've checked every folder to make sure every file is on the server.

I've also checked the GD setup and checked GD with freetype support is enabled.

First, the folder structure is /ROOT/folder/mail/captcha.

What do I need to change to make it work with the structure?

Re: captcha does show the image.....not the letters

Hello,

I think the problem is the root directory......!!! /ROOT/folder/mail/captcha !!!

You have to change lines while you have put the mail script into a folder.......calt "folder" when you upload it to your server put the mail script directly in to your ROOT most of the time you see when you use FTP that you can go to public_html.....after clicking to the public_html there is were you store every thing for your site.....there you put the script mail as a folder.....

Hope you get it right.....

Does your server have GD support enabled?

If you right click on the captcha image in the above example is shows the image path as www.whisperhouse.com. When I do the same with mine the path is missing the www part of the webiste name i.e. just whisperhouse.com not www.whisperhouse.com. In the control file the full url is correct with the www.

Where do I look to change this?

Gary

Re: captcha does show the image.....not the letters

Hi Gary,

Everything what need to be change is the config.inc.php in the control file. Further you need the follow the lines wich David put them between the lines....you may always send your file so I take a look at it.
Also take care that the compleet adres is given in and that boxtrapper has the Chmod 755 or 777.

Hope you get it right..... Erwin

here are the lines from the config.inc.php file:

// Homepage URL
define('HOMEPAGE_URL', 'http://www.*****************.org.uk');

// Path to where contact form is installed. NO trailing slash
// This is only important if the box trapper is enabled
define('FORM_PATH', 'http://www.*****************.org.uk/mailwm');

Obviously the *** are the full & proper URL, before someone says anything.

Oh, sarcasm. I`m dying from laughter. I apologise for not offering premium support for my free projects. Most people here have tried to help. It didn`t work out. End of story.

Not at all, surprised really.

Good job it's free if it doesn't work. I'd hate to pay for something that doesn't work.

End of story.
