sender email

HI, thanks for this amazing script.
I wonder if there is any way to show email of the sender and not only their names, because when users want to pick up their ecards they only get the sender name but never the email, and they never know who sent the ecard.

and another question if you don't mind. I changed the background to black, and I managed to solve and edit most of the pages, but still 1 page (or option) that I couldn't edit.
1- when users want to view or pick up their cards through their emails, I want to change the options colors because they are all in black
"these options"
• Send same E-Card to someone else

• Send Random E-Card

• Go to Account Area

• Return to Homepage"
I want to change the color of the text to white. because the text has same color of background.

thanks and hope am not bothering you.

Re: sender email

You`re not bothering me, and thanks for your kind words.

Some of the colours are inline styles. The best thing to do to find them is to use a search program and a colour picker. Use something like Color Cop to discover what the colour is and maybe HDSearchAndStats to search for the colour in the files.

http://colorcop.net/
http://www.harddisksearch.com/

If you have Firefox you can also use colorzilla to find the colours.

As for the e-mail, the e-mails should be in the mail headers. Or do you mean in the message itself?

David.

Re: sender email

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
I will do my best trying to figure out how to change the color and will follow what you told me.

as for the email, what I meant is when users receive the email that they have a greeting card, the email that shown is from admin of the site but not the email of the sender. what I need to fix is that users can know the emails of who sent the greeting card and not only the name.
Thanks again

Re: sender email

You would need to modify the send mail functions in the main index.php file. I don`t have time at the moment to post the changes.

David.

Re: sender email

I would like to know how to change this too. Although the email to the recipient says do not reply, people are replying and I am receiving their messages.

Thanks

Re: sender email

FYI, I'm actually getting complaints from users about this issue. If there is some code I can update in the php script I would be glad to do that. I've looked through the index.php script several times and I'm not sure where to change what.

Thank You

Re: sender email

I have updated this as default. Replace:

index.php
admin/index.php
cron/advanced_date.php

Re: sender email

I noticed this (the email issue) after about 2 years of using the script.

I was thinking of a different solution (like it is usually done on other e-card websites):
We only have the option of replying with the same card, or to send a random card, in the latter case, no email addrsss shows up while in case of replying with the same card, the name and email address fields are filled in.

However, would it not be better, like on other systems to have an option "Send an e-card back to the sender"?
Just something where you can pick any card and then send it back to the email address of the person who sent it to you.

IMHO, that would be much better than sending the same card back to the sender.

Re: sender email

Well, technically you can do this anyway. I`m sure the next version will have many better options.

Re: sender email

OK Dave,
but do you mean by that there is a way of doing it without having to make significant changes to the script?

Re: sender email

Well, sending a card back to the sender is technically the same as just picking any card and filling out their details isn`t it?

Yes, if you know the sender's email, of course.
