I had problems with the preview also, however have overcome them - initially, by putting the absolute path to the MP3_preview directory. However now the only tracks that play regardless of which one is selected is the last one played. Clear the cache ie delete all browsing history, you can select another track to preview, but then that is the one regardless of track selection.

Is the data file writeable?
David.

Yes it is. If I download the file it has the track that I first selected after clearing the cache. If I clear the history, select another track, play it, download the data file that new track is listed. Copy of file below......

For info - there is no space between the p and r in the actual xml file.

Try clicking to play a track, then manually delete the 'xml_data/mm_jukebox.xml' file, then click to play another track. See what happens.
David.
Offline
Same thing happens. The file is recreated but the track played is the first one that had been selected.

Neil,
That doesn`t make any sense. Are you sure all the paths/file names are specified correctly?
David.

So, you`ve removed the copyright and then requested support? Sorry, but that isn`t going to happen.

Ok, sorry. I`ll give you the benefit of the doubt. I get so many people e-mail me for support and remove the copyright without permission. Its not a lot to ask.
I don`t really know what the problem is. You need to check all your paths are correct.

I have the preview working in firefox, but when I try to preview it in IE7, it always opens the same song, no matter which one you try to preview, unless I delete the xml file before every preview.

I can only assume a path is wrong. I can`t think of any other explanation.

If you want to send a donation, sure. I am actually on holiday at the moment, so I can`t guarantee when I`ll be able to check. I check the forum each morning and help where I can.

I dont think it is a path problem, cause it works in firefox, and netscape navigator, but it will not work in internet explorer. Plus when I open the xml file after changing to different files, it has the correct information, but will only play the first song i previewed. any more ideas. maybe a problem with id7?
Offline
I just don`t know. I would need to run some debugging tests to find out where the problem lies.

I was just trying to find out if it was a setting in my internet explorer. So I went to your demo, and your demo does the same thing that my site does. Works with firefox, but not internet explorer. Does your demo do that for you or anyone else?
Offline
Wow, you`re right. Now that is weird because it was working ok. Looks like the previous data is getting stuck in the cache. I`ll try and check it out and see if I can see what the problem is. Its also doing the same in Firefox. Not all the time though.
David.

The fault seems intermittent, because the demo on the Maian site currently works for me in both Firefox and IE, and I've been contacted by someone asking how I solved the problem because the script loaded onto my server works for them - but when I try to preview the tracks myself on my site, no joy!
Interesting - It's certainly causing some of us to scratch our heads...

In reply to Siyon, I overcame that problem by putting the full address in for the preview folder, so in settings:
MP3 Folder Path [mp3]
MP3 Preview Folder Path [http://www.webcracker.co.uk/musicstore/mp3_previe w]
Give that a go....

In the 'templates/preview_tracks.tpl.php' file, add the following to the head tags:
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="0" />
<meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" />
<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" />
See if that helps.
