hi david
Is it possible to limit the number of purchases for a particular item, per order ?
I'm still trying to work out a way of addressing multiple item type orders ( that have different packaging requirements ) but get ordered together, and more than 1 of each....varying quantities, varying item weights, multiple items can be sent in the one package but some items can only be sent in a particular kind of package. This is because I have bumper stickers, banners and posters where the A3 posters must go in a cylnder, whereas the A4 posters go in an A4 doc box by themselves but must upgrade thmselves and go with the A3 posters in a cylinder when they're ordered with an A3 sized poster. )
I have to make sure I'm not tired when I'm trying to work this out !
I have a rough system worked out, as long orders aren't too big. I've invented a cart-relevant-only weights system that correlates to order quantities ( not weights, otherwise it blows out because multiple items can be packaged in the one same box, up to a point, and still be under the post office scales, or not ).
If the cart was able to determine which items had priority packaging ( therefore rates too ), in multiple type item orders, might make it workable.....????
So, in the meantime, is it possible to limit the number of items per order, per a particular item at all ? ( I guess that would be a ' maximum quantity per order ' thing, I think )
thanks
paul

Hi Paul,
No, this isn`t an option in the system. It would be assumed that whatever stock is listed is available, so I doubt this is something I would add in future versions. It might confuse people to say there are X in stock, but you can only order X amount.

You've not heard of things like : " Limit of 3 per customer " etc ? ( or 10 in my case )
If you've got any suggestions as to how to set a cart up with thses needs, I'm all ears...
thanks, paul

Yep, I have heard about the limit, but funnily enough only in my local supermarket when the offers are on. lol.
What you probably need is a bespoke cart system to suit your needs?

I don't know what that is, so I had to look it up.
I've had a quick look and if it's a particular cart then it's about 2 thousand pounds !!
Is it a generic description, a style of cart, or is it this particular cart system ?
paul
( later ) hmmm....looks like it might be both )

Is there maybe a way to restrict purchases to items from one category per order ?
I've spent so much time and energy on this, all the design and customisation ( all those upgrades !!! ).....
There must be a way, a workaround, for what I want ???
