David, you have kindly given us example of adding a category to our templates, but ideally i would like to show only the current special offers.
Could you please let me know how i go about doing this?

The only way to to do this at the moment would be to move special offer products to their own category.

that wouldnt be a problem.
if i were to crate a new cat called specials, and add the products there, would they also get duplicated into "Special offers" also.

Anything thats a special will appear on the special offers page. You could remove the special offers link?
