Hi David. I was setting up countries and shipping zones this morning, left my laptop in sleep mode whilst I went to the supermarket and having come back and set up a further shipping zone, when I've gone to view the cart I got this error message and the system is disabled: ![]()
Offline:
FATAL ERROR: System footer file could not be found.
Please do NOT attempt to disable the systems footer file. Revert back to original.
Since I sorted out ioncube a couple of days ago, I haven't touched the files so am at a loss as to why this has happened. Do you have any ideas?
In the meantime I'll see if I can find the footer file in the .zip download and ftp it.
Thanks.

I found a file called footer in the 'control' folder so have re-uploaded it but I'm still getting the same message.
I haven't changed any code as I'm happy with how it looks plus I don't have the knowledge or skillbase to anyway.
I'll wait to hear from you and in the meantime switch everything off and then back on again - just in case ![]()
Thanks.
ps the test cart is here: www.starcards.biz/maian/

Hi David. Have just been adding some more products and now I've got the message below. There must only be about 12-15 products there so I don't understand why this has happened. I haven't altered any code anywhere or been in any database file. ![]()

This software has auto locked. This only happens when the database has been tampered with to exceed the free version restrictions. A few restrictions are imposed in the free version of this system, which are detailed here.
If you would like to remove these restrictions, a commercial licence is required. Here are the main benefits of supporting this software:
@ FREE upgrades for life. You only pay once regardless of features in future versions.
@ All features unlocked & unlimited.
@ Commercial upgrade also includes copyright removal.
@ No subscriptions or recurring billing.
If this doesn`t interest you, you may continue to use this free version so long as you reverse any manual database changes you made.
PLEASE REMOVE ANY MANUAL UPDATES TO YOUR DATABASE.

Thank you.

For the first error, just put the system back online via admin. That should fix that problem.
Not sure about the lock.

I don't understand what you mean about 'putting the system back online via admin' David. Can you explain for a pleb please.
Maybe I should just delete the cart and upload again because if you don't know about the lock and hand on heart, I've altered no code or probed in files to cause this, then it's the only thing I can think of to do. Unless you're thinking of something and want me to hold off...

In admin there is an option to put the cart offline. This is whats happened automatically.
System > General Settings > Cart Online/Offline
See if that puts it back online.

I can sign into the admin area but it won't let me go anywhere. When I click on something - System, Manage Products etc - it says the system is locked. I can't do anything.

Ok, no problem. Sorry about that, I have no idea whats happened to be honest. Its a strange one. You didn`t overwrite the licence file did you?

Hi David. Just spent the whole morning setting up the cart again and have just got the footer error message like yesterday so I'm now unable to view the site.
I don't understand what it is as apart from uploading and doing the changes the instructions call for so it can all work, all I've done is change the logo; add my own banners, edit some pages and create categories and products. I'm really concerned now that I'm going to lose everything again and that I'll get another lockout ![]()
Would appreciate your ideas as to what's happening?

Just seen your question about the licence file, not even sure where that is...all I did was upload the cart and then follow the installation instructions. It was all working fine and I was adding products and bingo, it just stopped working. I've never attempted to alter code or remove any files and the install file is still there but renamed.

I see licence.lic which shows a date of 25 Oct when I uploaded it.

Just had a thought with regard to the system lockout yesterday...some of the download files are large, up to 100MB so is there a possibility that their size is knocking things askew as far as that's concerned? I'm the person who offers cheap flash ecards and you kindly put a sticky on the forum about them a while ago.
The footer issue I just don't know...

No, there are no restrictions on file uploads, only what is set by the server.
If you still have issues or if it happens again use the contact form and get in touch.

Thank you. I've removed the code that appeared in the Cart Online/Offline page so I can view the cart again now.
I also removed the .zip files from the relevant product pages and will add them again at the very end - once I've done absolutely everything and am ready to go live. I'll take a backup before I do it.

Ok, no problem.
