Hi Stephen,

That only applies if you actually have e-mail accounts set up in your GoDaddy account.

When the sale goes through, does it log immediately in your admin area? So, even though the visitor is waiting 1hr for their e-mails, do you see the sale right away? If that is the case, its not a problem with your server, its with the e-mail account of the person who purchased.

Also, is everyone reporting a 1hr delay or just some people?

David,
Sent a message from the contact link and both responses came through immediately.
I asked GoDaddy about "mail send delays" and here is their response:
=====
If you are using our relay server on your hosting account to send the email, The following will explain how often form mailers send email. This could be delayed by the receivers email system also.
Our form mailer sends mail at the following rates:
ASP - every 10 minutes
CGI - every 15 minutes
PHP gdform.php - 15 minutes
PHP webformmailer.php - every 15 minutes (default) or as specified
If you have a specific email you would like us to review, please send the headers to us for review.
=====
I guess that means that it could take 15 minutes for a customer to receive their download information.
??
Is there any way around this?
A different hosting company?
Asking GoDaddy for a different service?
Thanks again,
Stephen

Not sure what you mean. I do not use the GoDaddy server for my email.

Yes, but if you are hosting your site there, the script has to send mail via the GoDaddy mail server. The script can`t just send mail on its own.

I don't know what you mean by "send the message using an email somewhere else".

What I mean is an e-mail address not hosted on the GoDaddy server. Something like yahoo or gmail.

If you use the contact option within the script, it sends a message to the e-mail in your settings and also an auto responder to the e-mail you used. Check this first.

Hi Stephen,

Firstly, let me thank you for your very kind donation.

Can I just confirm you aren`t using Joomla? The e-mails aren`t triggered until the correct response comes from Paypal. So, my first thinking would be that Paypal is not sending the request straight away. However, if this was the case, everyone would have the same issue and I guess thats not the case.

Which means its a server issue. Are there mail send delays on your server of any sort? If you use the contact option within the script and send the message using an e-mail somewhere else, does the auto responder arrive immediately?
