Wasn't getting filtered as spam. Here's the fix for the records:

I found the Email Address Trace on CPanel, which showed there was a problem with sending to a user@mydomain.com address. I submitted a ticket to hostgator support, and they "moved [my] domain from the localdomains to the remotedomains file on the server. You should now be able to send mail from the server to addresses on your domain." All works great!

True, but you didn`t mention the account type, so I was just checking. Its the same code for both e-mails, so no reason why the one would fail, unless it was an issue with the mailbox. Is it getting filtered as spam?

Seems like if the host (hostgator) blocked mail to thirdparty addresses, the autoreply wouldn't get out to acct "B" (hotmail)...

Does your host block mail to third party addresses? If so, try the SMTP option.

I just set up the script in my site (editted config.inc.php), pointed at webmail account "A", and tested it with a form entry "from" webmail acct "B". I got the autoreply in acct "B", but no email in acct "A". ??? It seems like the ability to send an email from my host is all OK if I got the autoreply ... and the email addresses in "From" and "Reply-To" in that autoreply header are correct. HELP!?!?
